ThekithasbeenformulatedincollaborationwithDr.RonalMacGregor.ThemethodisbasedonthatdescribedbyToraason,etal.Toxicol,56,107(1988)inwhichthemincedtissueisincubatedovernightwithpurifiedtrypsinat2-8°C.AspointedoutbyToraason,thisstepreducesthehands-ontimerequiredtoharvestcellscomparedtothetimeinvolvedinsequentialincubationsinwarmtrypsinorCollagenase.Purifiedcollagenaseratherthancrudecollagenaseisusedtomaximizeyieldandviability.
